My Momma's Homemade Dressing
This is one particular dish that hit me in the feels as I was making it. This food is home in a bowl for me, my Momma’s Dressing.
The smells brung up so many childhood holiday memories for me, ones that 15-year-old Terra would do anything to have
another day of.
Since my mother is comfy in her heavenly home now, this is the best I could come up with.
I made the cornbread completely from scratch and hand crumbled it up into bits. The smells of heavily seasoned chicken broth, s
autéed bell pepper, onion, celery, and some poultry seasoning created a cozy nostalgic paradise for me.
Everyone knows there’s no dressing without good ol’ cranberry sawse JELLIED 👏🏾
I went the extra mile and whipped that up with frozen cranberries, water, sugar, and lemon zest. To get the jellied consistency, I let the mixture cool a little, blended, and sieved to get the seeds out. Cooked a little bit more and placed in a mason jar before chilling in the fridge.
Happy Sunday Ya’ll 💜
See you in the next post✌🏾
